Tilt and turn windows have long been a popular choice for homeowners across the country due to their excellent weather-proofing and security features. These windows are both practical and versatile as they feature a hinge mechanism, which means that they can be opened in two ways:
- Open your tilt and turn windows inwards like a casement window for free-flowing air throughout your home.
- Tilt open your windows from the bottom so that the top of the window is angled into the room, allowing a smaller opening for ventilation.
The tilted opening has a smaller gap, which has the added benefit of increased security from intruders and seals completely when shut for improved thermal insulation.

Glazing Options
HGI’s double glazed tilt & turn windows are extremely energy efficient, which means you’ll save money on your heating bills. If you want to save even more, you can upgrade to triple glazed.
Where we install larger windows, we make sure they have laminated glass. This means the glass holds together even if its broken, so it’s safer and more secure, as well as protecting from fading and ultraviolet light.
We also offer noise reducing glass so if your home is affected by traffic noise, you can reduce the effect within your house, along with a range of decorative glazing to suit your home.
Handles & Hardware
Simple to operate, our tilt & turn windows have the very latest handle technology. It’s a simple quarter turn to tilt your window to allow ventilation, or a half-turn to open it fully on the side hinges. These versatile handles come in a range of colours including gold, silver and chrome.
